Decorative handpainted items found in my home. A matryoschka and swedish wood carved rooster. When there are political tensions between countries it is good to be reminded of that we do have things in common like for example arts crafts and design. Art across borders!

Eric's entry in Lisa's BRIGHT SPARKS
DANG, so after cornering the Science teacher at my school, in the end, I couldn't convince them to give me magnesium, or other flammable stuff that could burn paper in a cool, abnormal way for Lisa's "Bright Sparks" book, and I am fresh outta fireworks, because for some reason, they are only legal in Sweden around New Years.
So, I just had to set part of my entry on fire the old fashioned way.
Overall, I felt that this theme was made for me, as a raving glittery-shiny-silvery-thing abuser in my artwork, so I more or less just dug around for materials that I haven't had the guts to use yet.
Here's what I came up with in the end, with glitter, spray shellac, silver tape, carborundum sand, neon paint, bronze studs (which I am super stoked I finally used after they sat in my drawer for 2 years now!) fingerprints and so on.... resulting in a folio-type creation. As you will see, Lisa has made a box with individually cut squares, and without a blog post for more context? clues, I just went with this.
Keep on truckin!
sorry for the shitty image, but it's tricky to take a photo while holding something in the other hand that is burning... |

Jemina's Book / Petr's Entry
Shoot - finished this entry before reading your post, Jemina.
Your book seemed to arrive themeless - except for the inscription on your sweet cover saying: self made. Hence my entry, background collage of elements featuring making on various levels - cells close-ups, sewing patterns, handwritten journal entry etc and foreground cutout from IKEA bed assembly manual - I'm a big fan of IKEA assembly manuals - I know, odd.
Book's on it's way to Jeane along with her own book from the previous exchange where I finally contributed with my final addition.

Failure - Angela's book
As any art teacher knows, the happy accident fuels great solutions. Messing up means you are learning. Failing at something stings at first, but if you can move past that moment, big stuff is on the horizon. So, that's what my book is about. I had fun folding the pages, and almost made insects the theme because the pages reminded me of a centipede (when you hold one cover & let the rest hang free). The idea was that each person completes one panel (of four squares), but there's room for more & we can go on the back, if you feel like doing more!!
